Our daily life has become jammed with stress and bad news, and this not only affects our spirit but also our body and brain. We must adopt some habits that can help us negate the effects of the outer world on ourselves. For this reason, we would like to suggest 5 daily habits to improve your life and your brain.
1- LAUGH FOR 10 MINUTES EVERY DAY
It is strange to think of yourself scheduling your laughter, but if you knew how important that is, you would put more effort into making it happen. It is not hard to find things to make you laugh for a minimum of 10 minutes daily. The easiest resource is watching a movie or even short videos on YouTube that are about funny moments such as pranks. This way you will be laughing your heart out, and getting rid of the stress of your day.
2- WRITE DOWN THINGS YOU WISH YOU COULD SAY TO SOMEONE
Sometimes it is hard finding someone to listen to our concerns, so you keep it for yourself. However, you will still feel stressed and anxious. What you can do is write down these negative thoughts to get rid of them. Journaling has been found a great way to help you de-stress and get the negativity out of your brain. Once you write down what is bothering you, the problem becomes smaller than you think it is.
3- MEDITATE
You already know that meditation is essential to help you achieve peace of mind. Meditation for your brain is what physical activity is for your body. Not only will meditation rid your brain of stress, but it will also make it active and develop its skills. It is also a good way to slowly process the fast actions of the day.
4- GO TO THERAPY (EVEN IF YOU DON’T THINK YOU NEED IT)
Many think that therapy is for people with anxiety or depression or major mental health issues. While this is true, everyone can benefit from a good therapy session. Talking to a psychologist not only helps you solve some problems related to your mental health, but it also helps you create new ways of thinking that allow you to avoid them. You can find a good therapist near you and book a session to talk about things that are bothering you. They will sure teach you to take control over them.
5- SET A MINIMUM DAILY GOAL OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Physical activity is important to keep your brain healthy. However, when you are leading a busy life, you might not find the right time to be active. In this situation, you can take advantage of your fitness gadgets or your phone’s steps counter. Set several steps to be achieved daily and make sure that you achieve this number. Try to increase the number of daily steps by 500 steps every week or so. This way you will be active and healthy.
