Music is one of the things in life that brings all the people together. Everyone listens to music, even when the type or genre differs. In fact, music has many benefits to the listeners, other than improving your mood. It has been proven to improve many parts of your brain like memory and keeping it young as a whole. The following article talks about what music does to your brain, and how you can benefit from it. The connection between music and the brain Experts have been studying the correlation between the brain and music for a while now. To process of receiving music goes like this; the stereo system emits vibrations that go through the air until they reach the ear canal. The vibrations touch the eardrum and are turned into electrical signals that move through the auditory nerve reaching the brain stem. Other studies on 13-year-old children have proven that taking piano lessons from this age has the ability to improve many brain skills. These skills are related to memory, attention and problem-solving abilities. Doing so can also improve the quality of life and the moods of the player. In fact, only a few lessons are enough to see these improvements. In order to improve your brain’s ability with music, follow the following instructions:

1- IMPROVE YOUR CREATIVITY

There are so many types of music in the world and listening to many genres is helpful for your brain. In fact, if you stick to one type of music for a long period of time, your brain may get used to it and won’t get the benefits we are talking about. try to listen to different genres and types of music, even the ones your children would listen to, and make sure your brain never adapts to one type of it.

2- LISTEN TO MUSIC YOU USED TO LISTEN TO BEFORE

Recalling a memory from a long period is helpful for your brain. You can do so with music as well by listening to some songs you used to listen to a couple of years back or when you were very young. Chose something like the Beatles if you were a fan of songs that brings you memories from the past.

3- LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR BODY IS TELLING YOU

Your body has a reaction to different forms of music. Listen carefully to how your body reacts to every song or music and chose the ones that make you feel good and happy. People react to music in different ways; some of them relax to a certain type while others could feel irritated while listening to the same music. As a conclusion, music is not only for the entertainment of people but also for their physical and mental health. Incorporate music in every part of your life to make your brain feel younger and healthier. Remember: listen to a different genre, to old music and to a type that makes you feel good.
